The 1970 Mexican GP, would be another memorable race. Before even the Grand Prix began, spectators were so fired up for the Grand Prix, that they began to go over the fence to get a better glimpse at the track. Spectators were over the guard rails, placing them in a vulnerable and dangerous position to watch the Grand Prix.

The Mexican GP, only lasted for a few years. It unfortunately got cancelled between the late 1970s and early 1980s. Luckily, F1 would return to Mexico in 1986, with a revised layout of the Magdalena Mixhuca circuit.

During the 1986 Mexican GP, the race was atmospheric thanks to the fans, and the race would be won by Gerhard Berger, who would be winning the first Mexican GP since 1970. But the most memorable moment, would be Alain Prost's Iconic taxi ride. During the cooldown lap, Prost gave a free taxi ride to drivers Stefan Johansson, Rene Arnoux and Philippe Alliot. Prost brought them back to the pits, which delighted the Mexican fans around the circuit.

Unfortunately, Formula One would once again, stop racing in Mexico starting from 1993. Many fans thought that the 1992 Mexican GP, would be the final Grand Prix in Mexico on the Formula One Calendar. The 1992 Mexican GP, was won by Nigel Mansell. Fun Fact: The 1992 Mexican GP, was Michael Schumacher's first F1 Podium.

Surprisingly for the third time, Formula One would make a return to Mexico once again. The Magdalena Mixhuca circuit, was now renamed to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, as well as the Grand Prix name, from The Mexican GP, to the Mexico City GP. The track extended the 3rd sector, for drivers to go under the stadium, where fans could see a lot of the cars in action at low speeds.

During both the 2017 - 2018 Mexico City GP, Red Bull's Max Verstappen, won twice in a row at Mexico. Verstappen had held of a great lead against his rival Lewis Hamilton. He managed to do so once again in 2018. This was one of Verstappen's mega performances before he became World Champion in 2021.

In the 2020 Formula One season, the Mexico City GP, would be one of the events that would be cancelled during the season due to the rise of COVID-19. However, it won't take long for Formula One to return to Mexico until the next year.
Formula One would be back at Mexico, after the COVID-19 virus. The Grand Prix, would be special for Red Bull's Sergio Perez. Despite not having to achieve a Grand Prix victory, Perez managed to make his way onto the podium. The Mexican fans, truly adore this moment as they hope that in the future Perez would achieve his first home Grand Prix win.

Unfortunately for Perez, things wouldn't go according to plan in the 2023 Mexico City GP. Perez had a disastrous weekend, as he missed his opportunity to win the GP. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, made contact with Perez's Red Bull causing his car to go up in the air, and landing hard on the tarmac. That incident, meant a retirement for Perez. Of course, the Mexican fans were unhappy about it, and all completely blamed it on Leclerc.
The 2024 Mexico City GP, would be a bad weekend for Red Bull. Their top driver Max Verstappen, had a battle with his rival Lando Norris, as both drivers nearly went of the track. Verstappen had pushed Norris wide, which resulted him in a 10 second time Penalty. but when Verstappen tried to rejoin the track, his battle with Norris off-track was still ongoing and never thought of immediately driving back to the track. So the FIA Stewards offered Verstappen another 10 second time Penalty, for going of the track and gaining an advantage, leaving Verstappen in total of having a 20 second time penalty, which completely ruined his Grand Prix weekend.

The Mexico City GP, is one of the most atmospheric Grand Prix races of the season. The track layout may be questionable for fans and drivers for being too simply boring, or challenging. But Mexico will always be a special event in the Formula One Calendar.
